Dempsey’s experience includes: Great Lakes Policy Advisor for Clean Water Action; policy consultant to the Michigan Environmental Council, a coalition of over 65 environmental organizations with a combined total of more than 200,000 members; Executive Director of MEC in 1982–83; environmental advisor to Michigan Governor James J. Blanchard (1983–89); program director and acting Michigan director of Clean Water Action; appointed by President Clinton to serve on the Great Lakes Fishery Commission (1994–2001); and appointed by Governor Jennifer Granholm to the Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund Board in 2003.
